Discovery Gateway

I've been wanting to go up to Salt Lake to explore this kid's place. Of course we went on President's day & it was so crowded, uggh! It was almost the same price as going to Lagoon! I'm not sure it's worth it. It wasn't really a museum, but a play place with a lot of toys that I have at home already. It was fun for the kids though & the Sesame Street exhibit was really well done.

finally!

As some of you know, Emma is teeny tiny. At 19 months she's finally able to graduate from an infant car seat! I was getting so tired of it, we've been really trying to fatten her up since she dropped off the weight curve, she's finally 20 pounds now. I don't know why my kids are so skinny, I wish they had more baby fat, it's so cute! She was very proud to sit in her new seat.

terrible twos

My kids start displaying "terrible twos" behavior from age 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 (at least that's how it was with Eliska). Emma has definitely started this phase & I am having to baby proof (toddler proof really) everything all over again. She is climbing on the not-so-sturdy bar stools, the kitchen table, dumping out the napkins, salt & pepper. She has been having so many tantrums (mostly over candy). Today I told her she could have a candy if she ate her fruit, she sat there screaming her guts out. Finally I gave in & as soon as I gave it to her, she just held it in her hand & finished the fruit. Only after she was done did she eat the candy!

here's the outfit she picked out today

her latest wall art (dragging a piece of chalk while walking up the stairs)

at least I know it's only a phase!

pajama party

I couldn't pass up this sale online for a pair of princess pajamas for $5! I got 6 pairs for each girl. They'll still work for next winter, that's how I justified my purchase. Eliška will only wear princess stuff as you all know. They both wore the pj's all day when the box came & had to sleep with all the other pairs as well. They're easy to please. I love shopping online!

Dinosaur Museum

This was such a fun place, especially for kids! I've been wanting to go forever, especially since it's 2 minutes from my house! The girls are now really into Dinosaurs, they go around the house roaring.

exploring the caves

some sort of costume

erosion table (Dan had as much fun as the kids)

Eliska's new buddy

largest shark tooth ever found (or something)

digging for fossils (I later found Emma's diaper full of sand, don't know how she managed to get it down there!)

church has been cancelled

But let it be known that I was ready on time! Ever since we switched to 9 am, I've been late & not wanting to actually get up. But today, I got all ready, got Eliška all ready in a "princess" dress that she picked out & she was very excited to wear it to church. Dan assured me that the roads would be plowed, but then he came in from shoveling & said it's a complete blizzard & there's no way we could go. The stake president said they would still hold sacrament meeting for those who could make it, but no classes. Oh well, at least I was able to get out yesterday! We've been shut in the house this whole week, due to the snow. Here's a picture of Eliška in her dress, she was sad she couldn't wear it to Primary.
some pictures from the snowy week
all I could see out my back door
how we've been occupying our time indoors (can you say, cabin fever!)
sometimes I'll put the girls in the bath during the day, just to kill some time- they love it
