Christmas Highlights

We had a great Christmas day & are now enjoying relaxing & being lazy, since Dan is off till January 2nd (yay!). The girls had way too much candy, which resulted in Eliška "tossing her cookies" all over Dan while we were at his brother's house last night! Dan's parents brought us some Kolac (a Slovak pastry) & their famous rice crispy treats w/ fudge (yum). I have enjoyed getting everyone's Christmas cards, I've been a total flake & didn't get one out this year (sorry!). Anyway, hope you all have a Happy New Year!

Crooked Oak Ranch

We just got back from visiting my parents in Texas. This is the last Christmas there, since they are moving to Utah in April (yay!) We were trying to think of names for the ranch because it just sounds cooler to have a name for it! My dad thought of 'Crooked Oak' because of all the Oak trees, but crooked kind of has a negative connotation, so we're still brainstorming. The weather was great, I didn't even need a jacket! Anyway, here are some pics & videos (warning: there are a lot of em'! My mom wanted to see them all, so this is for you!)
Eliska is in love with Logan (their new dog)
thanks mom for all the great meals! Plus I finally got some of my grandma's secret recipes!

My parents gave all the grandkids cabbage patch kids because my sister & I used to get them for Christmas

we didn't wait long enough & all of our roofs fell off!

I LOVE my nieces Callie & Kenzie! I hardly ever get to see them, so we had a lot of fun

Picky Princess

Eliška is going through a phase right now, where she will only wear princess clothing & pajamas. She's been running through the house in little dress up outfits in the middle of winter, so we finally broke down & got her some warmer princess stuff. She will wear Disney princess or Barbie princess. I can't wait till the Disney store is open at the mall!

this sweater is a hand-me down thanks to my sis

This is tinker bell, so I guess fairies are ok too

Santa & his Reindeer

We took the girls to the mall to see Santa for the first time. They weren't scared like the other kids, it was adorable. Eliška told him she wanted a Barbie & rode on the rocking horse the whole time.

Then we went to build a bear workshop & the girls made Rudolph & Clarice. I've been wanting to take them for a while now & it was the cutest thing ever! They gave them a pretend bath, made a birth certificate, & got a little house with stickers to put on it.
Needless to say they can't wait for Christmas! Everyday Eliška asks me if she can open up the presents. We've caught her trying to open only one present so far.

A Night at the Movies

The last time we tried to take Eliška to a movie was like a year ago & it was not a positive experience. We had to leave because she just ran around the whole place. So, I thought we should try again & go to Enchanted. She was great, I was very happy. She was tired though because it was 7 pm & we had to cover her eyes during the dragon part at the end. The movie was so adorable & quite funny too. Maybe we'll try & see if Emma can handle a movie...

Christmastime is Here!

I finally wrapped all the presents today. Do you all wrap or just leave out Santa's gifts? Not sure what to do on that...
Eliška's first time making sugar cookies

turned out pretty good, took forever w/ a 3 yr. old though! She loved putting on sprinkles

Dan's lighting work

Cougar Fans

Dan insisted that the girls wear BYU paraphernalia for the game against U 0f U last Saturday. Yay, we won! Hopefully next year we can take the girls to a game.

I love this time of year!

We're gearing up for Thanksgiving here, I love the Holidays! My parents got in yesterday & Valerie's coming tomorrow! We are having fun & planning on going to some movies next week. Dan roasted chestnuts for us the other day, which I've never had. They were good, very unique flavor. Above is one of the place mats the girls made for Thanksgiving. I already got out all of the Christmas stuff (don't worry, haven't put it up yet!) & I've finished all the Christmas shopping. That's the earliest I've ever gotten it done. I'm really into Christmas this year, I think it's because the girls are getting older & I'm seeing everything through a child's eyes. Hope you all have a great Holiday this week!

creativity

All of a sudden Eliška's gone from scribbling in coloring books to drawing these kooky faces! I love it, I'm very impressed.

80's tribute

I love this assortment of accessories that Eliška put together. It reminds me of the once popular 80's Madonna look.

Halloween Fun

All day Eliška has been telling "scary stories" like this...
"Once upon a time, there was a little ghost...Boo!!"
We had a lot of fun trick or treating with the girls & their cousins...
