I can't believe she's 3!

nursery

Today was our first day as nursery teachers for church. I really like it, we get to teach Eliška's class & Emma is our "honorary member". It's so cute, all the little girls were literally fighting over Emma & treating her like their baby. When we switch classrooms, the kids hold onto a little ribbon as they walk down the hall, it's the cutest thing I've ever seen! One of the kids tripped & they all went down like domino's, I had to stifle a giggle. Nobody listened to my lesson, so I'm gonna have to get creative there. Maybe I'll try a felt board story or some stickers. It's fun to be working with Dan. I don't know why a lot of people don't like nursery, I think it's fun.

Super Saturday

This is actually the first time I've been to one of these for church, it was a lot of fun! I love that I was able to get so many projects done in a few hours. The lunch we had was so good too, with homemade chocolate candies, cookies, & truffles. It was also super sweet of Dan to watch the girls all day, they had a lot of fun with just daddy. Eliška started her new gymnastics class with the 3 & 4 year olds. I'm so glad the mom & tot class is over, now I can just sit & watch her. She loves hanging out with the older girls now instead of the babies. Now she gets to do the little yearly shows & stuff. We got her a real leotard & warm-up outfit for the occasion.

Scarecrow Festival

good read

After hearing a lot of recommendations for this book, I decided to read it. I just finished it in the last few days, it was so good! I totally love Edward! Anyway, I'm off to get the next book in the series, "New Moon".

first word

Emma is so funny. She gets on this chair & says, "sit" over & over again. If we tell her to sit down, she'll go over to this chair & sit on it. Such a smart girl! It's her first word besides ma ma & da da.

not bored anymore

Well, now that I'm out of my "baby fog" I'm starting to realize that Eliška is bored out of her mind! All of a sudden I've got a 3 yr. old who needs more stimulation & new activities. So, I have been trying really hard to plan fun things everyday & it is going really well. First off this book of activities, games & crafts is a life saver! I love it, there's also a toddler & older child version. Some of the ideas we've tried out are painting with shaving cream in the bathtub & finger painting with pudding. I found out that Emma doesn't like getting messy, kind of funny! We're going to make some Halloween spiders out of yarn later this week. Today we went to the Library for the first time & went to story time, which was so fun. They had dancing, singing & of course stories. Then we went to McDonald's for lunch (something we normally don't do), Eliška calls it "Old McDonald's" because of the song. The play area was deafening, I couldn't stand it for very long, but Eliška absolutely loves the slides & tubes. So, we are having a lot of fun & I am really loving motherhood right now!

Fall

Well, it was a fun week with relatives visiting. My Dad and Grandpa (who I hadn't seen in 3 yrs.) drove here to visit & my mom flew in for the weekend. Everyone is gone now, but we all decided to have Thanksgiving at my house this year, so that is something to look forward to. I will have fun getting some things to decorate the table with. I can't wait to see my sister when she comes out, it's been a while since we've gotten together. This month should be really fun. We have 2 Fall festivals we're going to, a Halloween party, Eliška's Birthday, Halloween, Relief Society Super Saturday, plus going to the pumpkin patch. I love Fall, except for the 2 winter storms we've had. The air is crisp & cool, yet sunny. Plus, the girls have been sleeping in longer since it's been so dark in the morning (so nice).
