what we've been up to...

Ok so it has been a while since I've posted! We lost our camera & so we got a new one (which I wanted anyway since we got our old camera back in 04'). So Dan downloaded these pictures off the camera (I still need to learn how to do it). Anyway, this is what we've been doing for the last month. (they are in order beginning from the most recent pictures)

Valentine's day

we went out to eat & saw pink panther 2 while my mom baby-sat the girls & made pinkalicious cupcakes (you can see those pics on my mom's blog)

It has been a crazy weekend! My dad was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning & we found out he had some ulcers that were causing internal bleeding. He fainted & lost a lot of blood. He had to get a blood transfusion & stay in ICU for a couple of days. He is doing much better now & will hopefully be released tomorrow. He really scared us all & made me realize how much I love him! You never know what might happen, it's just kind of a wake up call to us all. My dad is the best & it was really difficult to see him in the hospital like that. I'm just glad it wasn't a heart attack or anything. He is pretty healthy & walks their dog everyday, so it was kind of a shock. I guess he needs to stop taking Aleve & change his diet a bit. I'm just so grateful for my family!

Yesterday when I picked El up from school, her teacher told me that El had read her very first book all by herself! I am really proud of her, we have been working on reading a lot lately & her teacher said it shows. So now twice a week, she gets these little books to take home and keep. Very exciting, I didn't read till Kindergarten!

P.S. I can't find my camera or I would've taken a picture of her with her book

extracurriculars

Ok guys, I am SO overwhelmed by extracurriculars right now! What should I have my kids do?? There are too many choices! I'm signing up El for soccer this fall for sure. Both girls are begging me to do ballet & then there's swimming lessons & piano, etc., etc! What do you guys have your kids doing? El used to do gymnastics, but we stopped because she wasn't following directions & was just running all over the place! She is older now & I think she would do well in some sort of sport or activity. When do you start swimming lessons & piano lessons anyway? It's just kind of stressful because I want the girls to have some sort of skill or hobby, but I don't know how to decide on one major thing that they will do for the rest of their life! Let me know what you guys think!

4 monthsHe is growing SO big! When we got him he was 2 pounds, now he's 6! We've had to steadily increase his food. His face has gotten a lot more caramel colored if you look at these 2 pics. I seriously have such a crush on this guy, he is just so adorable! He is getting a little frisky though, hopefully that will die down when he gets neutered in a few weeks! He is just like having a little brother around. He is always stealing the girls' toys and tormenting them. We've been having a lot of fun playing in the backyard, since it has been pretty warm out (except for today).

By the way, we got his name from the original black and white version of the shaggy dog movie. The shaggy dog was named Wilby. We loved the name for a dog and knew that was the name for our pup!
