Festival of Trees

Wow, what an experience my first festival of trees was!! My Girl Scout troop decided to donate a tree for the festival of trees this year. The trees are auctioned off and all proceeds go to Primary Children's Hospital. They usually raise about 1 million dollars! My co-leader had done 2 trees previously for the festival in earlier years and was definitly the person to make it all happen! We decide to do a candyland themed tree. We got generous donations from families in our troop and ended up spending $450 on our finished tree (this is what they start the bidding at). Our tree ended up being sold to a nursing bra company called "Undercover Mama" for $950! It was all very exciting and a great experience overall!

Girl Scouts

Well, I decided to start a Girl Scout troop for my girls! I loved being a Girl Scout and I wanted my daughters to experience it too. My awesome co-worker at Challenger is my co-leader and we have been having a blast so far! It is a lot of work during this first year as a troop and I am learning a lot about how to simplify things for the future (I tend to go overboard on everything). So far we've had a backyard campout, spa sleepover, lots of field trips, earned lots of badges, and donated a tree for the local hospital's festival of trees.

Summertime

the girls wore their hair in braids most days for swimming lessons

Em's Dance Recital

I think one of the funnest things about having girls is they get to do dance! El decided to do gymnastics this year, but will be doing dance again in the fall. Anywho Emma took a cute dance class at the local rec center and had a really great time! The program was good, however we are going to try a more traditional dance center this fall.

St. Patrick's Day

For some reason I got really into St. Patrick's Day this year and decided to try out some fun ideas from pinterest.

we had green milk and lucky charms for breakfast

El doesn't really like milk, so she got green water

Em's really into making ugly faces for all my pictures lately

That crazy leprechaun played some tricks on us, like turning everything upside down on the fridge

we made a cool trap to catch him

but he pulled the little ladder inside the trap and escaped, leaving some gold coins behind

crafts

i just love preschool crafts!

one of my fave dinners: corned beef, cabbage, & potatoes

we made place mats for our feast

we went on a fun little hunt with clues that led to some green treasures

these mint milkshakes were sooo yummy!
